Georgi Tomov received his Master’s degree in Dental Medicine with Magna cum laude honors from the Medical University of Plovdiv, Bulgaria. He obtained his PhD in 2009, following the successful defense of his doctoral thesis. He holds two specialties: Endodontics (2008) and Periodontology (2019). Currently, he serves as a Professor of Periodontology at the Faculty of Dental Medicine in Plovdiv, where he was appointed Chair of the Periodontology Department in 2020. Since 2012, Prof. Tomov has also served as the Founder and Director of the Laser Center at the same faculty.

Prof. Tomov’s scientific interests and clinical practice focus on periodontology and the use of lasers in dentistry. He has authored over 40 full-text publications in specialized dental journals and co-authored textbooks on laser dentistry for dental students. He is a member of the Executive Board of the International Society for Laser Dentistry (ISLD) and is an active international lecturer, having presented across Europe, Asia, and America.
