Dr. Aslıhan Üşümez is a 1996 graduate of Hacettepe University Faculty of Dentistry. In 1997, she began her PhD education in the Department of Prosthodontics at Selcuk University Faculty of Dentistry, completing her PhD in 2001 with a thesis titled “Evaluation of Bonding Porcelain Laminate Veneers to Acid Etched or Er:Cr:YSGG Laser Etched Tooth Surfaces.” She was appointed Assistant Professor in 2003, Associate Professor in 2005, and achieved the title of Professor in 2010.

In 2008, she was honored as the “Young Scientist of the Year” by the Turkish Dental Association. She further earned a Master of Science in Lasers in Dentistry from RWTH Aachen University in 2012. In 2021, she was appointed Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Lasers in Dental Science.

Dr. Üşümez is one of the founders of Istanbul Dental Academy and is recognized as an expert in Porcelain Laminate Veneers and esthetic smile design. She has published over 100 scientific articles, received numerous oral/poster presentation awards, and earned travel stipends from international congresses. She is married and has two children.
